Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

As we prepare for the upcoming holiday season, I want to take a moment and give thanks. I appreciate you and the wonderful trips we planned together.

Let’s Celebrate the new year with a fresh new look and brand! Welcome to the Expeditionist!

Ex·pe·di·tion: A journey or voyage undertaken by a group of people with a particular purpose, especially that of exploration.

Working closely with you, we find ourselves on our own expedition together. We are exploring this vast world’s many countries, cultures, natural beauty, and wildlife and learning more about ourselves through these incredible experiences. Why do you travel? Thinking about why we travel creates a depth that allows for a much more meaningful experience. Do you want to celebrate a milestone? Would you enjoy an escape to spend quality time together with your friends and family? Ready to cross off the items on your bucket list? I look forward to the opportunity to work closer together. We have so much to look forward to!

Ready, Set, Celebrate

Milestones matter. Are you celebrating your 5th, 25th or 50th anniversary? Are you selling the business, you built from the ground up and retiring? Are your kids or grandkids graduating? Have you beaten the odds with an illness? Honeymoon? Destination wedding? Celebrating a divorce? There are so many reasons to celebrate in life. What if you were to celebrate on board the Venice Simplon Orient Express? Fly in a balloon over Cappadocia? Relax in your overwater bungalow in the Maldives or Bora Bora? Experience an AMAN hotel for the first time? Would you like tickets to the finals at Wimbledon? I always say St Barth is a great idea! The world was closed for a long time during the pandemic. Many hotels have been updated and many new ones opened! Have you heard about the newest hotel on the famous French Riviera? Mayborne RivieraWhatever reason you decide you want to celebrate, I want to collaborate with you!

Ready, Set, Expedition

Expedition cruising is a rapidly growing category of the cruising industry. I’m addicted to the anticipation of the unexpected! My clients enjoy the opportunity to experience remote regions of the planet while enjoying the benefits of luxury. These types of immersive vacations are designed with the curious traveler in mind, offering unique life experiences. If you have enjoyed your vacation time aboard a traditional cruise ship, come explore travel aboard a purpose-built expedition vessel like the luxurious National Geographic Resolution with Lindblad Expeditions or Silver Endeavour by Silversea Cruises. Multigenerational family travel is quite popular to the Galapagos islands, check out the luxurious 48-guest National Geographic Islander II.

Are you collecting continents? Join me! I’ll be going back to Antarctica on my 4th expedition on January 20, 2024. Journey to Antarctica, the White Continent Departs January 21, 2024, aboard National Geographic Resolution! Antarctica: White Continent Adventure Travel | Lindblad Expeditions.

Labor Day weekend I made a trip to the Port of Los Angeles for a private tour of the National Geographic Resolution. I met with both captains, and the tour of this new ship was incredible. National Geographic Resolution | Lindblad Expeditions I am very excited to return across the Drake Passage with this ship that was built to cross rough seas, offering the passengers a much smoother crossing.

Ready, Set, Jet

We all know commercial airline travel can be difficult. I love to share my passion and knowledge with special itineraries that have been designed with a private jet. The benefits are incredible. Skip the hassle by going early to the airport and waiting. Spend more time in the destination you really wanted to visit. Many of you have bucket lists that these specially curated tours will visit. Travel to many continents around the world in less than 3 weeks’ time comfortably. Can you imagine traveling with 25 couples on board an aircraft that can carry over 200 passengers? Most itineraries have been designed to take the stress out of long-haul flying. An Around the World Jet Expedition by private jet includes a tour manager, free time, special destinations, insider access, luxury hotels, incredible cultural experiences, the most knowledgeable guides and so much more. This is one of my suppliers I work closely with, learn more here: Adventure Journey World Travel | TCS World TravelThere have been so many incredible new friends made when traveling this way. I am aware of the planning and all that is involved behind the scenes to make these trips come to life. I work with a very nice group of private jet expedition companies who all have different styles and personalities. Private Jet expeditions are a very large travel investment. Use my expertise to match you to the right trip that is perfect for you.

Ready, Set, Safari

I have just returned from my thanksgiving safari to Kenya. We enjoyed plentiful game viewing, luxury lodges, incredible dining, sunsets, vistas, scenery, cultures, music, and so much more. On this year’s educational trip, I was blessed to spend time with Anton and Emma Childs, owner, and founder of the Bush and Beyond’ Emakokojust inside Nairobi National Park. From there, I flew down south past snowcapped Kilimanjaro to enjoy another visit to the  Great Plains Conservation Group Ol Donyo lodge. Founders Dereck and Beverly Joubert are award-winning filmmakers, photographers, and conservationists who created the Great Plains foundation. We loved being there during the green season. I biked on the plains alongside wildebeest, zebra, ostrich, gazelle, and giraffe! The weather was delightful with temperatures in the 70’s. From there, we flew up to a private exclusive ranch called Segera in the Laikipia region. The owner is the CEO of Harley Davidson and invited us to his home in Santa Fe this March. Our view of Mt. Kenya was stunning. Segera offers endless activity, has incredible game viewing, and is the perfect spot for a family or a honeymoon. We then flew south and enjoyed the next five nights between the Naboisho and Olare Motorogi conservancy, which are located on the Masai Mara National Reserve northern boundary, sharing our time between the Great Plains Conservation camps of Mara Nyika and Mara Plains. We spent our last night in an area called the golden triangle, which borders Tanzania. We enjoyed our stay at & Beyond’s  Bateleur Camp. While there, I made time to visit two other beautiful camps in that area of the Masai Mara: Anagama and Sanctuary Olonana, with a special visit to the Geoffrey Kent Suite. Combining a trip to Kenya with Rwanda is one of my favorite things to pull together.

Last June (2022), I flew back to Rwanda, checking into the One and Only Gorilla Nest at Volcanoes National park. My last trip was before the world closed in October 2019. I am listed on the Conde Nast top travel specialist for Rwanda and have been traveling there for over 18 years seeing many amazing changes over the years. Rwanda is the safest country in Africa and leads the way for others to follow in so many areas. The newly opened Ellen DeGeneres campuswhich houses the Dian Fossey Gorilla fund was simply magnificent. Tara Stoinski was a guest speaker on Nov 15 for the Tate Lecture series and had an incredible lecture. I’d like to share the video with you: Tara Stoinski - SMU (Southern Methodist University).

I have been traveling for over 20 years to many countries like Botswana, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, and this spring will return to Botswana and visit Namibia. I served for years as our chapter president for APTA (assoc. for the promotion of tourism to Africa). This is a personal passion of mine. I will continue to share my expertise and some real life-changing beautiful destinations and experiences with you.
